Do I need planning for my summer house build?x

In most cases, the answer to this question is no, garden buildings are usually considered permitted development and therefore does not require additional planning permission. However, it does depend on where you want to place the summer house in your garden and if you live in an area that is part of a national park or similar conservation area. To be considered permitted development the summerhouse will need to be placed a minimum of two metres from the boundary of the property and be 2.5 metres maximum height.
